Order Confirmation

Why it exists

In cash on delivery the buyer commits nothing at checkout. That makes ordering easy, which is the point, but it also means a share of orders are impulse, duplicate, mistaken or fake. Shipping those costs money and returns nothing.

Confirmation moves that filter to the cheapest possible moment: a phone call, before the parcel leaves the warehouse.

What a good call actually does

• Confirms the buyer meant to place the order and still wants it
• Rewrites the address into something a courier can navigate — district, landmark, callback number
• Agrees a delivery window so someone is home
• Answers the objection that would otherwise appear at the door

The address step matters more than sellers expect. In markets navigated by landmark, a confirmed address is often the difference between a delivery and an RTO.

The rate to expect

MDM Express operates at a 75% order confirmation rate. The remaining orders are cancelled before dispatch, so they never cost the seller a shipment or a return.
