For a seller this is not a compromise. It is the only rail that reaches most of the market. A store that accepts cards only is invisible to the majority of buyers in Libya.
The trade-off is that an order is not revenue until it is delivered. A buyer can refuse at the door, be unreachable, or have moved. Every failed attempt costs a delivery and a return.
This is why order confirmation exists: calling the buyer before dispatch removes the orders that were never serious, before they cost anything.
